Introducing our charity partner Give.Help.Share

Give. Help. Share. was established during lockdown 2021 by co-founders, Amanda Barbanel and Jacqueline Harris. Their fundamental aims were to: GIVE children nutritious food; HELP feed families; and SHARE food knowledge for a healthier future.

Since the beginning of 2021, Amanda & Jacqueline have distributed over 10,000 nutritious food parcels to those children and families who need them most via schools across London and Herts. Not only do they provide food, but it is equally important to them that they offer nutritious, plant-based food with an additional aim of re-educating families on healthy food choice

As primary school teachers by profession, Amanda and Jacqueline are only too aware that food is fundamental ‘fuel for learning’. Without this, children can become disconnected from lessons and have poor concentration levels resulting in behaviour difficulties and limited progress. Children need adequate nutrition to thrive in their learning, supporting them to become stronger and smarter for a healthier future.  Their combined 27 years of teaching experience has driven them to now support children's physical needs, with the knowledge that this foundation is the key to generating equal opportunities for these children.

Whilst continuing their efforts to alleviate food insecurity, Amanda and Jacqueline have now launched the educational aspect of their charity:  delivering school workshops that focus on healthy snack swaps; the importance of a balanced diet; and food budgeting. Coupled with the new statutory PSHE framework in primary schools, the Ofsted Inspection Framework dictates that “Schools are a vital part of our plan, and have opportunities to support healthier eating, physical activity and to shape healthy habits.” Hence, Give. Help. Share. aims to provide children with the opportunity to learn about food, its provenance, diet and health together with budgeting skills in order to empower them to develop healthy eating habits and make informed choices.

SNACKZILLA is delighted to get involved, and so for the Sainsbury’s trial campaign for every carton sold we will be donating a cookie for them to gift to children during their workshops.
